About Me
A Little Bit About Me….
Hello and welcome to my page! Thanks for stopping by. I am Holly Reese, a Montana artist, and designer with a passion for designing art for products. I am the kind of person who skips the story on recipes so I’ll keep this short and sweet. My absolute favorite thing about design is turning an idea into something beautiful that exists in the real world. I find the most inspiration from vintage things and from my surroundings, whether that be on a hike in the mountains, taking a trip, or things around home. My priority is taking care of my family, so I design when I can. When I’m not designing things, you can probably find me hanging out with my husband, our one year old daughter, and our overly energetic mini golden doodle Millie. I also love hand-embroidery or tackling a home decor project on our 100 year old farmhouse.
While I am a traditionally trained graphic designer and have a BFA from Montana State University, it wasn’t until my senior year that I discovered surface design when I had some designs printed onto fabric as part of my senior thesis project. Although I didn’t know what a surface designer was, I fell in love with designing patterns and dreamed about seeing my designs out in the real world. The whole world seemed a lot bigger after that. I began to realize just how much art and design is actually out there, on every object imaginable, and someone designs it all. I love the practicality of designing products, if it’s in my house and I use it, it might as well be pretty.
It all begins with an idea: A look into the design process.
